| INDUSTRY OVERVIEW | | Radio is a multi-billion rand industry in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and supports many recording studios, music producers, recording artists, and of course, radio stations. There are community and commercial stations, and both offer great value to advertisers who understand their demographics. All 11 of South Africa's official languages are represented on Radio, and channel listenerships are language specific. Radio adverts can be produced by most of the radio stations and a number of recording studios in Durban, and flighted for between $30 and $1000 dollars depending on the station. There are several advantages to sound advertising. the internet now serves as an additional 'free' platform, and can be linked to, for example, to youtube, or facebook, or your own website, or that of your clients. |
